For those who decide against cooking, there are still many fast food and chain restaurants open to the public over the long weekend, which includes July 5.
Here is a list of some fast food chains and restaurants that are still open on July 5, but check your local branch for specific opening hours.

Applebee’s
On July 1, Applebee’s announced a new deal just in time for the Independence Day weekend, and it is open on July 5.
Applebee’s have launched $5 Mucho Cocktails, including the Blue Bahama Mama, and the Boom Berry Daiquiri, and these are both available to-go as well. The restaurant has also launched some savory salads, including a Buffalo Chicken Wedge Salad.
Burger King
Burger King is open on July 5 and at present has not launched any new offers, except those which are available in individual branches.
The Cheesecake Factory
The Cheesecake Factory has launched new menu items for the summer. This means Korean fried chicken and cauliflower tacos alongside some of their classics.
The restaurant chain is open on July 5.
Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A was not open on July 4, as the outlet is closed on Sunday in many locations.
However, it is open on the federal holiday on July 5.
Denny’s
Denny’s remains open all weekend and on July 5. The restaurant has also released a red, white and blue pancake breakfast to commemorate the event.
Domino’s
Domino’s remains open for takeaway pizzas over the July 4 weekend, including the July 5 federal holiday.
IHOP
IHOP is open over the July 4 weekend and on July 5, for dine-in, online ordering and takeaway. The restaurant is also offering free pancakes if you sign up to their mailing list.
KFC
KFC is open this weekend, including July 5. Individual locations have different opening hours, so check your local chicken shop.
McDonald’s
McDonald’s is open all Independence Day weekend-long, as well as the federal holiday. If you order for curbside pick-up or get the app, you can win some free fries.
Starbucks
Starbucks is open all over the long weekend including July 4 and 5. However, some of the shops are not open yet off the back of the coronavirus, so check your local store first.
Taco Bell
Taco Bell is open for the July 4 weekend and on July 5. It is best to check individual stores for opening hours.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s is also open this weekend and on the federal holiday. There are special deals to add a $1 burger to your meal if you download the Wendy’s app.
