Finding a rock-type Pokemon can be hard for those who don’t know where to look. Some players may not even realize that different Pokemon have different spawn rates based on location.

There are plenty of common locations for rock-type Pokemon to spawn. The place they most commonly spawn is farmland, but players living out in the city or suburbs don’t have to worry, as there are plenty more locations as well.

The confirmed common spawn locations for rock-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO are farmlands, quarries, parking lots, parking buildings, cities, hiking trails, and nature reserves. While farmlands are the most common spawn points, rock Pokemon can appear in these places as well.

While keeping proper safety and social distancing in mind, players should travel to these places when going for walks if they wish to find rock-type Pokemon. As the current event is focused on the Hoenn region, players are more likely to find rock-types that were introduced in the Hoenn region, excluding legendaries. These include:

Nosepass Lunatone Solrock Lileep Cradily Anorith Armaldo Aron Lairon Aggron Relicanth

Some Pokemon, such as the Aron line, are commonly forgotten to have their secondary rock typing. If a player sees any of the above or any other rock Pokemon, they should attempt to catch them as soon as possible if they haven’t completed their rock Pokemon catching task yet. This event is highly recommended for all trainers, but especially for those who haven’t obtained the legendary Pokemon, Groudon.

After completing all tasks for the Hoenn Throwback Challenge Event, players will get the opportunity to catch the legendary Pokemon, Groudon. It will come with the move Fire Punch, making it a hot catch for any trainer.

Once again, players are urged to put their health and safety before going out and playing Pokemon GO. All trainers are to respect laws surrounding travel and leaving on in their respective areas.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
